About
Anjim is a nickname given to a boy who shakes his butt on a motorcycle as though he's twerking in a viral video. The video, based on how it appears on WhatsApp stories, has been used in parodies and redraws.
Origin
It is unclear who first uploaded the video. On September 22nd, 2021, the Facebook page "Kaum tiktok dengan ketidakjelasannya" uploaded the earliest-known screenshots of a WhatsApp Story from a girl named Aulia. In the screenshots, she challenges people to fight against a boy she claims is her boyfriend showing a boy shaking his butt on the motorcycle. On April 25th, 2022, Facebook[1] page "Joss" reposted the screenshots. The post received more than 3,200 reactions and 4,400 shares (shown below, left, center, and right). Both of the posts have been deleted.
In one of the comments on Joss's post from May 30th, 2022, Facebook user Ardin Jmb uploaded the boy's photo with the caption, "Anjim." The photo received more than 1,400 reactions (shown below, original post has been deleted).
Spread
After Joss's post became popular, many Facebook users began parodying the screenshots. For example on May 31st, 2022, Facebook[2] user Kentung uploaded a parody of the screenshots by using SPY x FAMILY characters. The post received more than 1,800 reactions and 1,800 shares (shown below, left, center, right).
The twerking boy photo has also been used as a redraw reference. For example on May 31st, 2022, Facebook[3] user Fadillah Fikri uploaded fan art of Raiden from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. The post received 773 reactions and 306 shares (shown below, left). On the same day, Facebook[4] user Dika uploaded fan art of Yuu Izumi from Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie. The post received more than 1,800 reactions and 1,200 shares (shown below, right).
On June 4th, 2022, Facebook[5] user Jehyo uploaded a video version of the WhatsApp screenshots to "Potret Ketidakjelasan Kaum Tiktok" group. The video received more than 9,400 reactions and 8,400 shares (authorship unconfirmed, shown below).
