On August 6th, 2006, Flickr ^[1] user coolmonfrere posted an image of the boat pulling the liner. The post received more than 23,000 views, 215 faves and 125 comments in less than 15 years (shown below).

Spread

Seven years later, on July 27th, 2013, Tumblr ^[2] user @odditiesoflife shared the photograph in a post about the canal. The post received more than 5,100 notes in less than seven years (shown below, left).

Two years later, Redditor ^[3] Freefight posted the image on the /r/pics subreddit. The post received more than 10,000 points (95% upvoted) and 280 comments in less than three years.

On March 19th, 2019, Redditor^[4] dadarksidesman posted an object labeling version of the image. The post received more than 12,000 points (95% upvoted) in a little over one year (shown below, center).

The following year, on April 16th, Instagram ^[5] user @fourtwenty posted a variation of the meme, receiving more than 172,000 likes in less than 24 hours (shown below, right).
