"Feliz Navidad" Among Us

About

The "Feliz Navidad" Among Us refers to a yellow Among Us crewmate character with a Roblox Face and human feet singing the Spanish, Christmas song "Feliz Navidad." The video (similar to the Revive App Singing Dogs) trended en masse on TikTok and Instagram in early 2023, often being placed beneath a different video and object labeled in a split-screen. The video's creation was inspired by precursor "Feliz Navidad" videos, such as ones showing various Breaking Bad characters singing the song.

Saul Goodman Singing "Feliz Navidad"

On August 7th, 2022, YouTuber^[1] jacobweeby posted a video showing Saul Goodman from Better Call Saul singing "Feliz Navidad," using an app to move his face and lips. Over the course of eight months, the video received roughly 1.3 million views and 94,000 likes (shown below).

YouTuber^[1] jacobweeby's video, however, is likely not the original, alluded to by a video posted by TikToker^[2] zacharyb_100 on August 10th, 2022, that showed a screen recording of the same video uploaded four days prior (on August 6th, 2022) by a since-deleted TikToker named @FloatingRedFox (shown below, left). Similar videos showing meme images singing "Feliz Navidad" surfaced on TikTok soon after August 6th, like one video uploaded by TikToker^[3] @darnedjac on August 7th that showed Selene Delgado and earned over 4 million plays in eight months (shown below, right).

Yellow Among Us With Roblox Face Singing "Feliz Navidad"

On December 23rd, 2022, TikToker^[4] @francyxxxx_alt posted a video using the 2019 2020 2021 2022 CapCut Template and multiple Revive App videos such as the Alien Cat saying Let's Play Football. When the cursor clicked on 2021, a yellow Among Us character with a Roblox face is seen singing "Feliz Navidad." Over the course of four months, the video gained roughly 120,700 plays and 5,400 likes (shown below, left). Later on December 23rd, TikToker^[5] @francyxxxx_alt posted a cropped version of the video, earning roughly 7,900 plays and over 330 likes (shown below, right).

In direct correspondence with Know Your Meme, TikToker @francyxxxx_alt claimed he made the video on the Revive App, as well as making the photo of the Among Us character with the Roblox face.

Spread

On December 24th, 2022, TikToker^[6] @random_d0ge used @francyxxxx_alt's video, adding an Italian caption and earning roughly 13,700 plays and over 460 likes in four months (shown below, left). On December 26th, 2023, TikToker^[7] @ivantikto posted a sped-up version of the video and inserted the "Feliz Navidad" Among Us into a My Singing Monsters setting, gaining roughly 869,000 plays and 103,700 likes in four months (shown below, right).

On December 28th, 2022, the video was posted to Youtube for the first time by YouTuber^[9] Alexander, earning over 73,000 views in four months. Going into early 2023, the meme took off en masse, going more viral as time went on. For instance, on February 4th, 2023, TikToker^[8] @kooder6830 posted the original video, earning roughly 309,400 plays and 17,200 likes in two months (shown below, left). On February 27th, 2023, TikToker^[10] @fel1z.navidad0 posted a video in which the "Feliz Navidad" Among Us was placed beneath another video and labeled "Diarrea Explosiva," earning roughly 10.7 million plays and 910,200 likes in two months (shown below, right).

After TikToker^[10] @fel1z.navidad0's video, many creators used the "Feliz Navidad" Among Us similarly by adding it to the bottom half of a split-screen and object labeling it. The practice spread to Instagram as well, such as in a post from Instagram^[11] user @xeporx on March 17th, 2023, that gained roughly 587,400 likes in 17 days (shown below).
