About

Kid Holding Fire, also known as Student Holding Fire, is an exploitable image macro series depicting a young student holding a ball of fire in his hand while a teacher with an inquisitive look gazes at him. It’s typically used as an object labeling macro to show amazement or shock from the teacher with the fire symbolizing something impressive the student presents to them.

Origin

The original photo used in the meme appears to come from a classroom demonstration/experiment and is seen online for the first time in a post from the Facebook[1] page Yo Soy UABJO (Benito Juárez Autonomous University of Oaxaca) on December 15th, 2018. Another format was posted to the r/memes sub by Redditor[5] BabyRinseCycle on March 15th, 2019, receiving almost 7,000 upvotes and 47 comments.
