Mordecai Punches Rigby Through a Box refers to an exploitable two-panel image of Regular Show character Rigby looking into a box, only to be punched through the box by Mordecai. The image spread in Object Labeling edits on Reddit where Mordecai's fist is labeled as an unfortunate happenstance.

Origin

The clip comes from the Regular Show episode "Jinx," which aired April 18th, 2011.^[1] The first example of the scene being used as an exploitable was posted to /r/MemeEconomy by user BeetiF on September 26th, 2018, gaining over 700 points^[2] (shown below).

Spread

Later that day, the same user posted the template to /r/MemeEconomy (shown below, left). After the template was posted, it began growing more popular in the subreddit. For example, user ibanezmaster44 posted an edit using the template to complain about the popularity of Moth Lamp memes, gaining over 650 points (shown below, right).
