Oh Don’t Do It, also known as Hoe Don’t Do It, is a series of Vines remix videos featuring a variety of FAIL or prank video clips set to an audio recording of a man repeating the phrase in rhythm, in a similar vein to the Do It For The Vine series.

Origin

On August 26th, 2014, Viner ttylctrn uploaded a video titled "Mane Tried to Punk Out!", featuring a clip of a young man dancing to the hip hop song "Ad-lib Freestyle"[1] by Krew-libs while his friend encourages him (shown below). Within seven months, the video gained over four million loops, 86,000 likes and 56,000 revines.

Spread

On November 21st, 2014, Twitter user @strokinhersoul[2] tweeted the original Vine video. On January 19th, Viner GotDamnZo uploaded a video in which he knocks a woman to the ground in sync with the audio from Viner ttylctrn's video (shown below). In two months, the video received more than 2.1 million loops and 51,000 likes.

On January 24th, YouTuber King Vine uploaded a compilation of notable "Oh Don't Do It" Vines (shown below, left). The same day, YouTuber Crey Crey uploaded an extended version of the original Vine video, gaining upwards of 1.7 million views and 620 comments in two months (shown below).

On February 1st, the FyreHouseMusic Soundcloud page uploaded a hip hop track titled "Hoe Don't Do It," featuring audio samples from the original Vine (shown below). In the first six weeks, the song received over 90,000 plays and 1,900 likes.
