Following the installation of the application on their phone, a person would start receiving photographs of a large humanoid entity with a canid-like skull and black hair, and later begin constantly visualizing it in their surroundings. Generally regarded wholesome by the SCP community, SCP-1471 gained notable presence online as a subject of both memes and lewding.
Origin
On February 23rd, 2013, SCP Foundation user LurkD submitted an entry for SCP-1471, categorized as Euclid.[1] The entry described a freeware mobile application MalO ver. 1.0.0, available in online application stores.
Never settle for those awkward feelings of being alone ever again. MalO is an exciting and interactive experience that will keep you engaged and intrigued. The anxiety of social situations can be nerve-racking, but after just a few hours of MalO you will soon forget all about those painful emotions of disappointment.
Following the installation of the application, individuals who installed it will start receiving photographs of SCP-1471-A, a humanoid entity with a canid-like skull, first made in neutral locations, later in places they have recently visited. After 90 hours since installation, individuals will start visualizing the entity in reflections and their peripheral vision, with this effect being irreversible.
The entry for SCP-1471 uses a black and white version of a photograph originally uploaded by DeviantArt user tarangryph on October 31st, 2011.[2] The photograph depicts tarangryph wearing a costume of Breynz the Zombie Werewolf.
