Taika Waititi and Cate Blanchett is an exploitable object labeling image macro series derived from a behind the scenes photo during the making of Thor: Ragnarok. It is used to the show when a less powerful individual is trying to impress or convince a more powerful individual, usually a dominant female or mother to comic effect.

Origin

The origin or context of the image is unknown but the image used was uploaded to r/acting,[1] on October 20th, 2017. The photo is of director Taika Waititi showing actress Cate Blanchett, in Hela costume, a tablet device (shown below).

The first instance of the image being used as a meme was posted to Twitter by user @itsdannyneary[2] on January 29th, 2021, using an Astrology GF/Stock Market BF meme, gaining over 7,000 retweets and 50,000 likes (shown below, left).[3] The most popular variant of the meme was posted to Twitter a few days later by user @dipospeaks[3], who on February 2nd, 2021 posted it in reference to a house husband showing their wife memes, gaining over 47,000 retweets and 297,000 likes (shown below, right).

And Taika Waititi's apparently 6' or 1.82m. Considering the background, I'm guessing this picture could have been taken during a rehearsal of the throne room fight scene. The throne itself has about a dozen steps so it's possible Cate Blanchett is just standing on a higher ground than Waititi.
