Miley Cyrus' Voice, also known as The Journey Is Usually the Part You Remember Anyways, refers to a series of memes made about Miley Cyrus' voice, centering on a phrase spoken by her in a viral video that showcases her deep, gravely voice. The video was posted to Cyrus' TikTok page in March 2023 to advertise her album Endless Summer Vacation and inspired memes and reactions that month about her voice and how it has changed over the years, with some comparing it to the voice of a heavy smoker. On March 15th, 2023, the @mileycyrus TikTok[1] page posted a short interview segment where Cyrus talks about the demo for the song "Flowers" from her upcoming album Endless Summer Vacation, the album's "backyard sessions" and how different it is from the final cut, saying at one point, "The journey is usually the part you remember anyways," garnering over 3.9 million views in two months (shown below).

In the clip, Cyrus' voice sounds considerably raspy and deep, especially compared to earlier clips of Cyrus talking. She has spoken about this before, including on the Joe Rogan Experience, claiming it is due to Reinke's edema.[6]

The month the video was posted, TikTokers began duetting and stitching it to make jokes and comments about Cyrus' raspy voice. On March 15th, 2023, the day the video was uploaded, TikToker[2] @doudarg posted a video mimicking her voice, garnering over 1.1 million views in two months (shown below, left). On March 18th, TikToker[3] @vinyljames1 stitched the video, adding a clip of a smoker talking afterwards, garnering over 1.8 million views in two months (shown below, right).

On March 19th, TikToker[4] @orionsartstyle posted a stitch to the video showing a clip of a zipper after she speaks, comparing her voice to the sound of the zipper, garnering over 5.1 million views in two months (shown below). On the same day, TikToker[5] @indigoreports posted a video about the reactions, sharing that Cyrus has Reinke's edema, which has made her voice deeper and raspier over the years.
