The Calling My Boyfriend My Husband is a prank trend in which a girl calls her boyfriend her husband and films his reaction. The trend was popularized on TikTok as early as August 2020 and went viral several times over the following years, including in March 2024.
Origin
On August 23rd, 2020, TikToker[1] @smileyjordynrylee posted a video where she calls her boyfriend her husband and films his excited reaction, garnering over 845,000 likes in four years (shown below). This is the earliest known video of the prank.

The trend became increasingly popular throughout the 2020s on both TikTok and YouTube. On January 6th, 2021, YouTuber[2] Ivanita Lomeli posted a video in which she pulls the prank on her boyfriend, garnering over 1.1 million views in three years. On July 11th, YouTuber[3] The Trench Family posted a video purportedly doing the prank, garnering over 25 million views in three years (shown below, left). On October 31st, YouTuber[4] Tikto Klips posted a compilation of people doing the prank, garnering over 1.1 million views in the same span of time (shown below, right).
Kenzie Greene "I'm Not Your Husband" Video
In early March, 2024, TikToker[5][6] Kenzie Greene uploaded a now-deleted video doing the prank in which her boyfriend responds "I'm not your husband" (re-upload shown below, left). The video inspired critical reactions towards her boyfriend, prompting them to respond in another now-deleted video (shown below, right).

The video inspired others to do the prank on their partners, reviving the trend. For example, on March 6th, TikToker[7] @sophiacuerquis posted a video pulling the prank on her boyfriend, who suggests he's going to ask her to marry him soon, garnering over 5.6 million views in a day (shown below).
