girl and unicorn type creature in Gijinka humanization art

About

Moe Anthropomorphism, also known as Gijinka (擬人化 in Japanese for "humanization"), is the trend of creating human-like characters based on non-human subjects, including inanimate objects, animals, brands or concepts. Online, many of the female representations are named using the Japanese honorific "-chan."

Origin

Anthropomorphism has existed in human cultures since prehistory. On the Internet, one of the earliest examples of Moe Anthropomorphism is the Japanese artist Toy's "iMac Girl" (left), which portrays the iMac model of Apple desktop computers as a woman. According to Toy's website, the art was first published in 1998. In 2003, the character ME-tan (right), a personification of the Windows ME operating system, was created on the Japanese imageboard Futaba Channel, which spawned the OS-tan series of Windows-oriented moe anthropomorphism.

Pokémon

The Pokémon fandom was one of the earliest fanbases to latch to moe anthropomorphism. Oh, come on, really..? You changed the entry's name to "Moe Anthropomorphism", made it refer mainly to "-chan" type characters and made the WHOLE entry focus on them..? As in, literally no other type of anthropomorphism matters..? Just from the Trending images alone:

And so many more.

These can all be described by words other than "moe": beautiful, lewd, cool, creative, true to the source, etc….

I get that "moe" ones are seeing a second coming due to Earth-chan, but do not give this whole entry the axe just to document a fad…

Please, keep the old title and entry's focus as they were and make this trend as a sub-section on a dedicated paragraph. Gijinka as a whole has been SO MUCH BIGGER AND IMPORTANT than the currently trending moe variations. Hell, this entry is over 6 years old already. You cannot just downplay all of that history for the sake of a trend… Might as well just make a "Moe" entry if it comes down to it.
