Joe30330 refers to a mistake made by presidential candidate Joe Biden during the second democratic presidential debate in July 2019. During his final statement, Biden told supporters to "go to" Joe30330 instead of text "Joe" to 30330 which sparked a barrage of jokes on Twitter and a parody website.
Origin
On July 31st, 2019, Joe Biden told viewers to go to Joe30330 during his final statement at the second democratic presidential debate (shown below). The next day, the clip was uploaded to YouTube by the Guardian and gained over 1,600 viewers that day.
Spread
On July 31st, immediately after told viewers to go to Joe30330, Twitter users began to comment on the odd statement. Twitter user @TeachBenPrice[1], tweeted, "JOE30330??!!! GO THERE?! HOW JOE?! HOW TO I GO TO JOE30330?!" (shown below, left). Twitter user @monosynth[2] took a screenshot of people buying up domain names linked to Joe30330 (shown below, center). For a brief period of time the site redirected to candidate Buttigieg's website as proven by Twitter user @victorjacobo_[3] (shown below, right).
That same night Joe30330.com redirected to a prank page created by Syracuse University student Josh Fayer. The site, JoshForAmerica,[4] includes the 21-year old's announcement that he would run for president (shown below, left). The site also states, "Hey! If Joe Biden sent you here, we just want to make something clear: we're not affiliated with any presidential campaign. We're just having some good fun (maybe a little bit at the expense of Joe) :)." That night, Stephen Colbert commented on the incident during the late show (shown below). The clip was uploaded to YouTube and gained over 145,800 views in a day.
