Blush Meter Meme is an exploitable meme template that uses a chart to show various percentages of a character blushing, usually with "100%" being humorously exaggerated. The meme has become a popular means for artists to show the various stages of their characters blushing on sites such as Twitter / X, Tumblr, and Reddit.
Origin
The template (shown below, top) was first posted by Twitter / X artist zasgodong[1] (formerly pr551) on July 15th, 2014, along with an example of its usage with their own character (shown below, bottom). The Twitter post received over 839 likes and over 1,200 reposts in ten years. The template was originally made in Korean, but was later remade in English by an unknown user.
Spread
The meme has seen occasional use in the decade since it was first posted. For example, on October 9th, 2021, Twitter user @iandipen[2] posted an example featuring Lady Dimitrescu, gaining over 180 retweets and 1,200 likes in three years.
On October 23rd, user @Jourd4n_[3] posted an example with a Helltaker character, gaining over 2,500 retweets and 29,000 likes in the same time frame.
