Draw Your OC With The Cartoon Network Color Palette is an art challenge on Twitter started by user @moppy_stuff. The challenge requests artists to draw their original characters in the five-color palette of yellow, magenta, cyan, black, and white associated with the animation-focused television channel Cartoon Network.

Origin

The challenge started on Twitter on May 20th, 2022, when Twitter user when moppy_stuff made the following post (shown below).[1]

The post was endorsed by the Cartoon Network Twitter account,[6] which gave artists the exact colors necessary to complete the challenge.

Artists on Twitter would take the post to task, and quickly made replies and quote tweets to the original Tweet that showed off their OCs in the color scheme. The original thread received over 10,800 quote tweets.[2] Some popular examples include a post by Babybee173[4] that gained over 180 retweets and 8,900 likes in three weeks (shown below, left) and a post by NimbusCampanule[5] that gained over 40 retweets and 2,300 likes (shown below, right).


The trend also gained popularity on DeviantArt, with 242 artwork posts using the color scheme in response to the original tweet in nearly two weeks.[3]
