Origin

In 1955, author Vic Fredericks released the book Crackers In Bed, which is described as containing "Jokes, gags, cartoons and funny stories that will bring sunshine into your nights." The cover features a drawing of a woman in a pin-up style eating crackers in bed and reading a pocketbook with her legs raised in the air.^[1]

The earliest known redraw of the image was posted by X^[2] user @Miss_Darien_ on January 9th, 2025, garnering over 485 likes in two months.

Spread

On February 25th, 2025, X^[3] user @agenitty_ posted a cropped edit of the original image that removes the text from the wall, writing, "people should draw their ocs like this I'm so serious," garnering over 158,000 likes and 16,000 reposts in a week. The post inspired a wave of redraws over the following days, which also spread to other platforms.

For example, on February 27th, X^[4] user @dxadfish posted a redraw of the image depicting the pin-up model as Maria from Silent Hill, garnering over 4,900 likes in a week.

On February 28th, X^[5] user @lianmilanesa posted a redraw depicting the pin-up model as a gender-swapped version of Tintin from The Adventures of Tintin, garnering over 61,000 likes in a week.

On March 1st, 2025, X^[6] user @sfwmars posted a version of the meme drawing the pin-up model as Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4 wearing a dress, garnering over 45,000 likes in five days.

On March 2nd, Instagram^[7] user insomniac_red posted a redraw of the image featuring Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099), garnering over 8,000 likes in four days.

On March 3rd, 2025, a version of the meme redrawing the subject as Queen from Deltarune to the subreddit /r/Deltarune,^[8] garnering over 800 upvotes in three days.

On the same day, Tumblr^[9] user lintufriikki posted a version of the meme depicting the model as Soundwave from Transformers, garnering over 2,000 notes in three days.
