Freddy Fazbear is a bear animatronic, and one of the antagonists of scott Cauthon's video game Five Nights at Freddy's. He is the eponymous mascot of the fictional restaurant "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza." He has amassed a lot of popularity online, becoming a fan-favorite character and inspiring many fanarts and TikTok memes.

Origin

On August 8th, 2014, Five Nights at Freddy's was released on Steam. One of four antagonists, Freddy Fazbear is known for making his move at the end of the night if the player runs out of power, eventually showing up in the dark while the melody of Georges Bizet's Toreador Song plays, before jumpscaring the player (as seen below), which causes a Game Over.

Freddy quickly became popular among the FNAF fandom, becoming the face of the franchise in much the same way he is in canon. He inspired countless fan arts and memes, many inspired by his iconic jumpscare, and also became very popular within the furry community, the same way Foxy and Chica did. His fame led to his reappearance under various forms in every official FNAF game, either as a major character or as a cameo, and even as an ally to the main character in Security Breach.

"Freddy Fazbear Trash Can"::/memes/is-that-freddy-fazbear-freddy-fazbear-trash-can refers to a bear-shaped trash can than was the subject of a TikTok video by @.g.r.b on June 2023, and associated with the question "O, cholera, czy to Freddy Fazbear? ('Oh shit, guys, is that Freddy Fazbear?"), and in a similar fashion by @_flossinator_ on July 2024, associated with an equivalent question: "Um, guys, is this Freddy Fazbear?". Those videos inspired many copycats and remixes.
